UC Rusal Reduces Environmental Impact Through R&D Initiatives/Interview with Victor Mann

United Company (UC) Rusal has 48 production sites located in 19 countries across five continents. Collectively, the company produces 11.3 million tonnes of alumina annually and some 4.2 million tonnes of aluminum. Each year the company invests over 100 million US dollars in R&D activities. Some of the key technologies developed through this investment include the creation of the RA-300 electrolytic cell; the RA-400 and RA-500 "super powerful" electrolytic cells; upgraded, dry anode S0derberg technology; "clean" S0derberg technology; and cells with vertical inert anodes.
