Alcan Issoire Plate, Sheet, and Profile Plant--Well-Positioned for the 21st Century

Considering the magnitude of the capital investments at Issoire and the significant number of new, conventional, and Al-Li alloys introduced to the market during the past ten years, it is evident that Alcan Global ATI is poised for long term strategic partnerships with major airframes. Additionally, applied research in advanced manufacturing and joining technologies indicates that Alcan Global ATI has a strategic vision dedicating resources to provide a response to the challenging competition with composite materials. It is hoped that airframe manufacturers recognize the manufacturing and technical capabilities of the Issoire-Voreppe sites and find opportunities for synergies in designing lightweight, cost efficient, and environmentally friendly aircraft of the future.
