The New York State Assembly has OK'd a six-month moratorium on natural gas drilling

The act calls for no drilling permits to be issued until at least May 15, 2011, was approved by the state Senate in August. The measure now goes to Gov. David Paterson who has voiced support for the move. Paterson leaves office in January and has until Dec. 31 to sign the bill into law.
