Crude oil advanced the most in more than four months today, topping out an intraday high of $77.28, as the US dollar slid against the euro, strengthening the appeal of commodities as an inflation hedge investment. The greenback traded at $1.3767 per euro, down 1.2% from $1.3598 yesterday. Since the beginning of 2010, the euro has weakened about 3.9% against the dollar, primarily over concern of the euro zone's stability in the face of large debts among member nations.
