State-owned gas utility Sui SouthernGas (SSGC) has brought its LPG bottling plant,jetty and 6,500t storage facilities at Port Qasim in Karachi on line, ina ceremony attended by prime ministerYousuf Raza Gilani on 18 February.The facility will be used to importbulk supplies, which will then be soldto domestic LPG marketing companies. SSGC bought the infrastructure for1.8bn Pakistan rupees ($20mn) from thebankrupt Progas Energy Pakistan lastyear (LPGW, 15 June, p9).
