Euphorbia suppressa J. G. Marx and Euphorbia gamkensis J. G. Marx, two hitherto-unnamed species from the Western Cape Province, South Africa

Two new succulent species of Euphorbia are described. Both have been in cultivation for many years and are reasonably well known, yet mostly under wrong names. The first, E. suppressa, was often distributed as E. albertensis. It is, however, not very closely related to E. albertensis but shows much closer links with E. arida and E. brevirama. The other species described is E. gamkensis, which for many years was known as E. crassipes. It also shows much resemblance to E. fusca, but it is clearly distinct from either.
