Small business owners say the recession is pushing them to be more efficient and innovative and cultivate stronger teams, according to a survey from Network Solutions and the Center for Excellence in Service at the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business. Two-thirds (66 percent) of small businesses are finding new ways to operate more efficiently during the economic downturn. "Like most of us as individuals reacting to the recession, small businesses have made significant adjustments to their finances," says Roy Dunbar, chairman and CEO of Network Solutions. "In doing so, they are showing characteristic resilience and creativity."
