Expanding trial data demands new analytical methods

Effectively managing trial data is challenging and drug sponsors are increasingly compelled to leverage new analytical methods, technologies and partnerships to get the most value from massive sets of unique trial data. As a result of improving smart mobile technologies and the growing popularity of wearable devices, clinical trial managers are now capable of gathering and analysing more data than ever before. More significantly, new technology and analytical methods are helping to improve both the volume and the quality of trial data while increasing patient involvement and convenience in the process. Streamlining the complexities associated with effective trial data management is challenging, even for the most adept research-based organisations. According to The 2016 Nice Insight CRO Outsourcing Survey, 76% of respondents outsourced clinical trial services and 50% outsourced clinical trial data management (Figure 1).
