Argentina liberalised wholesale gas prices on 1 September - one month after the date originally announced.Under the new price regime,large-scale gas consumers are obliged to sign new contracts directly with gas producers instead of with distributors.Government officials expect wholesale gas prices to rise by 20pc for industrial users,depending on the region.Spot prices will be agreed through the new electronic gas market(MEG),which is operated by the Buenos Aires stock exchange.
