Uruguay short-lists firms to build LNG terminal

Uruguay’s Gas Sayago joint venture has short-listed “a number of first-class consortiums” to build an LNG import terminal. The groups, whose names Gas Sayago did not disclose, will submit offers at the end of the first quarter for a build-operate-transfer contract. In the meantime, Gas Sayago is commissioning numerous technical and environmental studies that it is making available to participants to accelerate the process and diminish investment risks.
