There have been many advances in microscopy techniques for live cell imaging recently that have enhanced a researcher's toolbox.These have provided new ways of visualising and quantifying events with high spatial and temporal resolution to make the studying of dynamic processes right down to the molecular level in living cells almost routine.Such techniques are now adding a vital new dimension to the understanding of cell function.
