The UK Aerospace industry will be given a major boost as the Technology Strategy Board launches a new funding competition. A total of ￡25m will be available to co-fund collaborative R&D projects that support the government and industry's Aerospace Industrial Strategy (AIS) which was published last March. An Aerospace Technology Institute (ATI) will be built as part of the strategy, with its headquarters at Cranfield Technology which will seek to generate growth within the aerospace sector from major civil programmes.
