摘要

The great news to come with the September issue of the Journal is that we have received our first official impact factor. The value for 2009 was 0.724 which is an outstanding initial outcome. The impact factor reflects citations of papers sourced from the Journal in a given period. Our publishers' analyses show us that papers on evidence-based practice guidelines, reports on nutrients, foods and diets (including food composition), research on nutrition care and malnutrition screening, and manuscripts involving nutrition education and dietary methodology are among the most sourced and cited. The performance of the Journal in this domain also provides an indication of how our identity is developing and how our research makes a special contribution to the body of scientific knowledge. We must congratulate all those who have made this possible, including our publishers, Wiley-Blackwell Asia Pacific, the Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA) support team, Associate Editors, reviewers and authors, all of whom have contributed to this excellent outcome.
