While there was little movement among the top 10 uraniumproducing countries last year, a number of Kazakh mines pushed themselves onto the list of top 10 producing projects in 2010, according to an NIW examination. Kazakhstan, which cemented its status in 2010 as the world’s top uranium producer — the country pumped out 34% of the world’s primary production — now has four of the top 10 uranium-producing mines in the world: Tortkuduk, Karatau, South Inkai and Inkai.
