Women's health and the Millennium Development Goals: A long way to go

The new paradigm in women's health reflects the Millennium Development Goals (MDG), which were adopted by 189 countries in 2000. The MDG comprise of eight goals, and all nations are committed to reach them by 2015 (UNDP, 2012). Even though the MDGlire accepted globally as a way to end poverty, these cannot be achieved without promoting women's health. To achieve all MDG, women and girls must be guaranteed the full exercise of their human rights, including their sexual and reproductive rights.
