Otto Neugebauer Prize in the History of Mathematics

The European Mathematical Society has decided to award a prize for work in the history of mathematics. It is to be named after the distinguished historian of mathematics Otto Neugebauer and it carries a cash award of ?5,000 generously provided by Springer-Verlag. The prize will be awarded every four years by the EMS President during the prize ceremony of the European Congress of Mathematics, and will be given for the first time at the 6ECM in Krakow (Poland) in 2012.
