Depot injection of ammonium-based fertilizers according to the CULTAn system. Part 2: Swiss studies in potatoes.

Studies were carried out during 2003-06 at 2 Swiss locations with potato cv. Agria planted at row distances of 75 cm. N fertilizer was put underneath the seed potato (CULTAN system) or spread conventionally. Data are presented on plant growth, weed cover, crop yield, tuber quality, starch level, and % marketable tubers. The CULTAN system was better in drier years, resulting in slightly higher yields.
