摘要

Abstract: The growth of cities caused a reduction in the average speed of vehicles, increasing the pollutant gas emissions, the average traveling time of inhabitants and commodities, directly affecting various sectors of the economy. One viable solution to minimize problems caused by traffic is based on the concept of Car2X-Communication. The Car2X-Communication infrastructure is the first step to implement Smart Cities technological solutions for road safety. However, to support this new network it is necessary to implement a new physical infrastructure, consisting of cables, sensors and many types of devices. The objective of this project is to design the necessary infrastructure to implement solutions based on smart cities to cover the public transportation system of Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil. The proposal is based on the Internet of Things infrastructure, following the IEEE 802.15.4 standard.
