Topiary trends: Putting topiary in containers makes it a portable, compact and versatile addition to any style of garden
Topiary is one of those classic elements that works with almost any garden style. Traditionalists might opt for clipped cones and balls of buxus, bay and lonicera while contemporary gardeners are now experimenting with twiggy balls of coprosnia and standards of leptospermum or kowhai. The beauty of potted topiary is that you can choose a shape that takes up very little space and it also makes it easier to transport your topiary from garden to garden. It's the ideal way to add interest to any part ofthe garden - imagine clipped balls in terracotta pots lining a flight of steps or a pair of handsome standards at the entrance.
