The heading above is the title for the 2013 NZFFA Conference at Orewa. It recognises the founding of The Farm Forestry and Horticulture (Lower North) Association by Neil Barr and a small group of colleagues — all farming in the vicinity of Helensville. It also acknowledges the contribution Neil and his followers have made to New Zealand forestry science, national and regional policy regarding trees and forests. In addition, there is the quality of life all New Zealanders enjoy as a result of the presence of trees in our landscapes.
