The changes in the surface energy of the metal in the process of plastic deformation must affect the character of adsorption on its surface. Since wetting is associated with the adsorption of corrosive (and, especially, inhibited) media [1], one can determine the influence of plastic deformation on the character of interaction of the metal surface with corrosive media by analyzing the angles of wetting and the incremental capacitance of steel. In what follows, we study the influences of plastic deformation of steels on the incremental capacitance and the angles of wetting of their surfaces with aqueous solutions of inhibitors.
