Manufacturing slide continued in November

The manufacturing sector decreased for the fourth month in a row in November, the National Assn. of Purchasing Management (NAPM) reports. The Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) for November was 46.5 percent, down slightly from 46.8 percent in October. A reading below 50 percent indicates that the manufacturing economy generally is declining. This was the six time in the past seven months that the PMI has been below 50 percent.
