Influence of the Working Media on the Cyclic Crack Resistance of Steels for Elements of Agricultural Machines

It is shown that, under the influence of working media, the growth rate of cracklike defects in St. 3 and 20 steels can become about 5-25 times higher as compared with tests in air. In this case, the negative action of the medium on the crack-growth resistance of the indicated steels increases in the following sequence: organic fertilizer (manure) - ammonium sulfate - nitrophoska.
