In the case where 35, 45, and U7A carbon steels are protected by chrome-plating and titanium-and-chrome-plating according to the technology of DCSA, their surface is covered with continuous zones of carbides consisting of Cr_7C_3 and Cr_3C_2 carbides in the case of chrome-plating and of TiC carbide in the case of titanium-and-chrome-plating. It is shown that the diffusion-alloyed layers obtained on carbon steels according to the technology of DCSA are characterized by high pitting resistance.
