摘要

abstract_textpClinical cancer registries, in close cooperation with epidemiological registries, are indispensable for the evaluation of oncological treatment. Due to new structures and developments (evidence-based guidelines, new types of centers, new, often multimodal concepts of treatment, increased wishes of patients and sponsors for transparency) clinical cancer registries are increasingly becoming the focal point of oncological treatment. Only by continuous, patient-centered documentation can the outcome of all these developments be evaluated. The completeness and quality of the data are still heterogeneous in Germany and heavily influenced by different legal and basic conditions. By improved cooperation between the registries themselves ("Forum") and opening towards health politics, sponsors, scientific societies and patients (Kooperationsverbund) their performance could be significantly increased. Thus 34 registries from 12 states were able to present therapy and outcome-oriented data from more than 540,000 patients at the German Cancer Congress in 2008./p/abstract_text
