A pot culture experiment was conducted to study the effect of phosphobacteria, Bacillus megatherium var. phosphaticum on the interaction of VAM (Glomus mosseae) and Meloidogyne incognita on blackgram. The combined inoculation of phosphobacteria and VAM recorded higher yield than individual inoculation of either phosphobacteria or VAM alone. The lowest gall index and nematode population was recorded in plants inoculated with phosphobacteria + VAM + nematode than either phosphobacteria or VAM combinedwith nematode treatments. Nematode inoculation to mycorrhizal plants resulted in reduced spore and mycorrhizal colonization. But application of phosphobacteria to mycorrhizal plants, nullified the damage caused by the nematodes and resulted in increasedspore and mycorrhizal colonization.
