A study was conducted at the experimental site of Zonal Agriculture Research Station, Khargone, Madhya Pradesh, on black clay soils to study the effect of different tillage practices on improving resource conservation, soil characteristics and productivity of soybean. Results indicated that during initial year's treatments involving conventional tillage with recommended dose of fertilizer and hand weeding resulted in significantly higher soybean seed yield as compared to other treatments combinations. During third year all the treatment combinations were statistically at par with respect to productivity of soybean which emphasized that combined use of organics with reduced level of tillage and chemicals enhanced the productivity of soybean crop andimproved soil properties. The soil properties determined each year revealed that addition of organics with low tillage system helped in improving soil physicochemical properties including nutrients availability in soil.
