New NatGas Unit Goes Online in Texas

Unit 4 at NRG Energy's 550-MW Cedar Bayou Generating Station in Chambers County, Texas, went commercial last week, featuring the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality's latest prescribed best available control technology. The natural gas combustion turbines are fitted with ultra-low nitrogen oxides (NOx) burners. In addition, the heat recovery steam generator has a selective catalytic reduction system to further reduce NOx emissions.
