Goldboro LNG Acquires Site for Nova Scotia LNG Export Terminal

Houston-based Pieridae Energy has taken several steps toward exporting LNG via eastern Canada, including land acquisition, local approval and another link to customers in Europe. The company's Halifax-based subsidiary Pieridae Energy (Canada) bought 265.6 acres from the municipality of Guysborough on Dec. 3. The Goldboro Industrial Park site is for a proposed 10 million ton per year (1.4 billion cubic feet per day) LNG export facility. The site is near the northern end of the Maritimes & Northeast Pipeline, which could be repurposed to carry US gas north to Nova Scotia.
