Before the HaynesviUe Shale of North Louisiana and East Texas came along and stole its thunder,the Marcellus Shale of the Appalachian Basin was the hottest new North American shale gas play on the market.Yet while the fervor surrounding the Marcellus has been somewhat dampened by its southern counterpart,there's no question that the Appalachian play will be a major contributor to the US natural gas supply picture within the next decade.The question is:how soon?
