DOE to Spend $18M on Solar Storage Solutions

The US Department of Energy (DOE) said last week that it will spend $18 million for the development of solar energy storage solutions. The move is part of the DOE's Grid Modernization Initiative, which aims to improve the resiliency, reliability and security of the US power grid. The solar energy storage solutions consist of six new projects that will enable the development and demonstration of integrated, scalable and cost-effective solar technologies that incorporate energy storage to power homes in periods when the sun is not shining.
