Gas Demand Expected to Grow for Pacific Northwest for Next Decade

US Pacific Northwest demand for natural gas is projected to grow at a rate of about 1.2% per year through 2024. And that growing thirst for gas will be slaked by increasing volumes from Western Canada. At the recent Benposium in Houston, sponsored by Platts unit Bentek Energy, senior energy analyst Jeff Moore outlined how Western Canadian supply would push aggressively into the Pacific Northwest as its markets in the US Midwest, US Northeast and Eastern Canada are increasingly usurped by burgeoning production in the Marcellus and Utica Shales.
