Growing volumes of associated gas in the South Texas Eagle Ford Shale have surpassed existing midstream capacities and could soon impact crude oil drilling in the play as well, according to Plains All American Chief Executive Greg Armstrong. The Texas Railroad Commission, which regulates the oil and gas industry in the state, recently introduced new initiatives aimed at reducing the amount of associated gas in the Eagle Ford that is now flared or vented.
