Leviathan Investment Still On Hold for Noble

Noble Energy said further investment in the massive Leviathan gas discovery offshore Israel remains on hold until the country's government approves a regulatory framework that resolves anti-trust concerns, establishes future domestic prices and sets a clear policy for exports. "I think we're both committed and still remain committed to seeing this done by the end of the summer," Noble Chief Executive David Stover told an analyst presentation early last week. Stover said the company needs a stable regulatory framework in order to invest with confidence. In January, Noble suspended work at the Leviathan field after Israel's Anti-Trust Authority said the company and the Delek Group - which together hold an 85% interest in the field - had violated antitrust laws.
