摘要

One notable feature of the 1~(st) Asia-Oceania Conference on Neutron Scattering (AOCNS) in Tsukuba, Japan, in 2011 was the inaugural set of Instrument Scientist Workshops (ISW) preceding the main conference. With principal brief to encourage and facilitate sharing of the tacit technical information and methods that are so often the difference between a good experiment and a great one, the 2011 ISW proved to be very popular amongst the participants, who voted strongly in favour of continuing the series at other conferences in the region.
