This paper presents a concept and experimental results using FPGA to reduce voltage “spikes” and to remove the static voltage error of a DC-DC boost switching converter (SC), when load impedance is instantly changed. FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) has been used because of a high dynamic behavior of such systems. With FPGA it is possible to implement control algorithms to work in real time, with very low sampling periods. This can be achieved by parallel implementation of control algorithms. This paper also provides idea and experimental results of a load with changeable impedance for testing SC.
