Russia’s Gazprom was at the forefront this week in helping to cement energy ties with Vietnam during a meeting in the southern Russian city of Sochi between President Vladimir Putin and Vietnam’s Communist Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. Among the key agreements signed on Nov. 25, Gazprom’s oil arm, Gazprom Neft, inked a framework agreement with fellow state Petrovietnam for the joint development of the Arctic Dolginskoye field in the Pechora Sea, located near Russia’s first p ro d u c i n g o ff s h o r e f i e l d , Prirazlomnoye, also developed by Gazprom Neft.
