Shock absorbers are well established as a major application for powder metallurgy (PM) parts. Indeed, the advantages of the technology for the production of these units prompted Tenneco Automotive Europe, makers of the well-known Monroe brand of shock absorbers, to establish an in-house PM line at its plant in Sint Truiden, Belgium.
