Russian regional producer Tatneft more than doubled net profit in the first half of 2011 as a result of higher oil prices. The Tatarstan-based company posted net income of 39.5 billion rubles ($1.38 billion) under US GAAP standards, versus 15.9 billion rubles a year earlier. Revenues totaled almost 294 billion rubles, up 37%. On the downside, operating expenses jumped by 18% to 33.3 billion rubles.
