Less than 24 hours after Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin met with his UK counterpart, David Cameron, who arrived in Moscow this week on a bridge-building visit, BP won a partial victory in its appeal against court rulings authorizing its Moscow offices to be searched as part of a lawsuit lodged by minority shareholders in TNK-BP. The Arbitration Court of the Tyumen Region overturned a ruling issued on Aug. 30, which means the enforcement procedures against BP Exploration Operating Co. (BP EOC) that led to its offices being searched on Aug. 31 and Sep. 1 must halt. Bailiffs were hunting for documents related to BP's failed tie-up with Russian state oil giant Rosneft.
