Zen And The Art Of Metal Roof Installation: Focus On Clips

In any given day, I talk to dozens of installers, owners, designers and architects about their metal roofing projects. The two most common questions I am asked by our customers regarding standing seam clips are: 1) What is the correct clip spacing? 2) What consideration should be given expansion and contraction? Both are good questions; in fact, they are questions that the installer, architect and designer should ask when planning a metal roof system. Failure to address correct clip spacing, expansion and contraction and the proper type of substrate (steel, aluminum, TCS, copper, etc.) can result in the failure of the roof system.
