The experiments were conducted during first week of September, 2004 and 2005 at Amatekoppa and Konehosur villages of Sagar taluk, Shimoga district, respectively to know the efficacy of new chemicals and other products for the management of Leucopholislepidophora Blanch. Among the different treatments, the imidacloprid 17.8 SL@6ml/palm had given maximum mortality of 96.12 and 95.14 per cent followed by chlorpyriphos 20 EC @ 12 ml / palm with 93.71 and 93.10 per cent mortality at Amatekoppa and Konehosur village, respectively. The next best was carbofuran 3G @ 25 g /palm (90.06 %) followed by phorate 10G @ 25 g/ palm (88.69 %) at Amatekoppa village while in Konehosur village the performance phorate 10G @ 25 g /palm (90.77 %) was better than carbofuran (86.95 %). The bioagents nematode, Heterorhabditis indicus (55.37 and 44.16%) and the fungus, Metrahizium anisopliae (60.94 and 50.97 %) performance was moderate in killing the white grubs in respective villages. The neem cake performance-was not satisfactory even after 14 days of its application.
