India is a land of youth and they constitute a numerically dominant, potential, resourceful and adventurous segment of the population. Rural youth are the backbone of Indian agriculture. They are the precious human assets who can play an important role in the developmental activities, as well as in agriculture and allied activities. The rural youth, because of their family and community background in farming are active partners in agriculture and allied activities. Rural youth play a key role in performing various activities related to dairy enterprise like selection of breeds, maintenance of cattle, collection of fodder for animals, milking and so on. In this backdrop, the present investigation was undertaken to study the aspirations and participation of rural youth in dairy enterprise.
