Evaluation of bovine urines as pre-sowing seed treatment in enhancing seed germination and vigour of pulses.

An experiment was conducted to study the effect of bovine urine samples collected from cow, buffalo, goat, pig and horse on the germination and vigour of pulses seed samples of redgram, greengram, blackgram, cowpea and horsegram. The experiment concluded that cow or buffalo urine (5%) can be used as a seed biofortification treatment for all pulse crops (1:0.3 w/v) wherein, cow urine (5%) can be used for green gram, cowpea and horse gram and buffalo urine (5%) for redgram and both for blackgram. Pig urine has to be avoided as it is deleterious to seed germination.
