A field experiment was conducted on the effect of sources of organic manures and P-solubilizer (Trichoderma viridae) on nutrient uptake and yield in rice bean (Vigna umbellata Thumb) during kharif 2002 in sandy loam soil in Main Research Station, Hebbal, Bangalore revealed. The study that application of poultry manure + 100 per cent RDF + PSF significantly increased the seed yield (1935 kg ha~(-1)), and stover yield (3858 kg ha~(-1)). Besides, number of pods per plant, pod length, number of seeds perpod, seed yield per plant and 100 seed weight were also superior with them. Maximum uptake of nitrogen (137.73 kg ha~(-1)), phosphorus (32.42 kg ha~(-1)) and potassium (117.17 kg ha~(-1)) was associated with the same treatment. The combined applicationof organic manures and P-solubilizer resulted in release of more nutrients and higher nutrient uptake by the crop.
