The experiment was conducted on seven years old plants of pomegranate with five levels of irrigation i.e. 4, 6, 8, 10 litres of water per hour applied through trickle irrigation system for 2-3 hours daily at flowering and fruiting time along with a control with bastn irrigation system on pan evaporation basis at 50 liter per square metre of area of basin. Efficient water management aimed at reducing deep percolation losses and minimizing benefits from the use of available water resources is vitally important for sustainable food production. There are several ways of increasing efficiency in irrigation. One way is by changing from traditional flooding methods to more efficient irrigation techniques such as drip irrigation methods. The objective of the drip irrigation is to maintain the moisture content of the soil close to the field capacity so that root will have constant supply of water. The results indicated that the yield (48.46 q / ha) was recorded maximum under 8 litre of water per hour as compared to control (31.12 q/ha). Application of 8 litre of water per hour through drip irrigation increased the yield by 55.71 per cent over control. The quality of fruits in terms of weight, length, diameter, T.S. S., acidity and total sugar was better under trickle-irrigated plants as compared to control. The net income was also found higher under 8 litre of water per hour (Rs. 70560) and lowest in control (Rs. 39128). Similarly B:C ratio was recorded most economical in 8 litre of water.
