摘要

Response surface methodology was carried out on the yields of intercropping system of maize and urdbean by having converted maize, converted urdbean, actual maize and actual urdhean. Linear and quadratic polynomial models were attempted for yield of intercropping system. Among the linear and quadratic models, R2 value for quadratic model was noticed to be high (0.991, 0.992, 0.792 and 0.850, respectively) indicating it is a better model to get expected value for sole crop and row ratio combinations in the system. Expected values obtained were almost similar to observed value for respective treatments. This indicated quadratic model was an ideal model for this intercropping system. The observed responses realized for paired row of maize with 2 rows of urdbean (2:2) was found to be high and similar prediction through quadratic polynomial model were also observed for the same row ratio. This indicated, paired row of maize with 2 rows of urdbean (2:2) was noticed to be productive intercropping row ratio.
