摘要

Soybean is an important crop of Madhya Pradesh which occupies an area of 4.5 million hectares with the production of 4.85 million tonnes. The average yield of soybean is 1078 kg / ha. Soybean is generally grown in sole as well as in mixed and intercropping with pigeonpea in Rewa region of Madhya Pradesh. The perception value of intercropping has changed radically over the year. Experimental findings suggest that intercropping can provide substantial yield advantage compared to sole cropping. These advantages may be specially important because they are achieved not by means of costly inputs, but, by the simple expedient of growing crops together (Willey, 1979) .
