Correlation and path coefficient analysis was carried out to elucidate the inter relationship among yield and yield related components in two F_2 populations of vegetable cowpea (Vigna unguiculata (L.) viz., Arka Garima x VS-389, Sel-11 x VS - 389 andtheir parents Number of pods per plant showed a significnat positive correlation with green secondary branches per plant Path coefficient analysis revealted that green seed yield per plant had a high direct positive influence on green pod yield per plant in both the crossess Where as the cross Arka Garirna x VS 389 exhibited high direct effect on green pod yield which was through number of pods per plant. Thus, mimber of pods per plant and green seed yield per plant deserve adequate consideration for better production of green pod yield.
