Effect of Urban Compost and Inorganic Fertilizers on Soil Nutrient Status and Grain Yield of Hybrid Rice

Field trials conducted on farmers field revealed that although KRH-2 hybrid rice out yielded IR -64. The soil EC, organic carbon, available NPk were almost same between varieties. Soil pH and eC were significantly decreased by the application of 4.251urban compost + 100:50:50 kg NPK ha~(-1), 8.51 urban compost + 50 : 50 kg PK ha~(-1) and 4.251 urban compost + 50: 50: 50 kg NPK ha~(-1). However, they increased the soil organic carbon, available N, P, K and micronutrients viz., zinc, iron, manganese and Copper.
